Despite the dreadful summer and a forecast of heavy rain, Barnes Fair 2012 went ahead largely as planned. A few events had to be cancelled, and Punch & Judy moved indoors to the OSO, but the opening Grand Parade set the mood for a colourful, exciting Fair. For photos from the day see the Gallery.

Barnes Fair is an annual event which takes place in July on and around Barnes Green. First held in 1975, the Fair has grown steadily and now attracts an average of 15,000 visitors throughout the day.

Some of the money raised by Barnes Fair goes towards the BCA's running costs, including maintaining its headquarters in Rose House, the historic building in Barnes High Street.
